Would you like to shape the future of adult learning in your area?
Birkbeck, University of London, has joined forces with Haringey Council to offer free adult learning courses for North Tottenham residents thinking about going into higher education.
The courses will start in the next few months but they are looking to start a focus group soon to find out details such as what local people want from the courses and what format the courses should take.
The focus groups and courses will take place at the 639 Enterprise Centre in the High Road. If you would like to be a part of the focus group, you should be passionate about your community and aged 18 years or older. If you would like to get involved, contact Faith Williams on 07980 316 762 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Haringey Adult Learning Service
The Haringey Adult Learning Service (HALS) offers courses across a range of locations with a choice of day, evening and weekend hours and many are free of charge. You have the opportunity to discuss your learning needs before, during or after attending a HALS course and you will be given support in order to find out what else you can do.
The new HALS course guide for 2015/16 is now available.
These courses and qualifications offer great opportunities for you to gain skills to improve your employment prospects. Most of the accredited courses remain free to those claiming Job Seekers’ Allowance and some other eligible benefits, while courses in Functional English and Maths are free for all including people who are working. Other courses include: Accounts, Computers, Languages and Wellbeing.
